Soy foods: an important part of a vegetarian diet!
Vegetarians enjoy eating a wide variety of tasty recipes, with grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits. In many instances, vegetarian meals are more interesting than meals with meat because a large percentage of the calories of the meal aren't taken up by, a pork chop, for example, or a few meat balls.
People who have been vegetarians for a while are experts at incorporating soy foods into their daily diet, but those people who are just getting their feet wet might not realize yet how soy food will help make their meals complete.
Vegetarianism is the practice of not eating meat of any kind, that's including fish and chicken. Most vegetarians do eat eggs, cheese, and milk, but some do not, and those people who don't would be considered vegans. In vegetarian cooking, one would often find vegetarian recipes which include foods made from soybeans.
Probably the main reason that soybeans are an important part of a vegetarian diet is that they are a great source of protein, in fact they are the best form of non animal protein. They contain a complete combination of amino acids, making them an extremely complete protein. In addition to protein, the are high in fiber, "good" fat, calcium, and isoflavones.

At first it may seem strange and unnatural to eat meals without meat, but with time, it will seem completely normal. And as your list of foods which you eat expands, you will have the chance to eat food made from soybeans in all it's many forms. Tofu, or soy bean curd, can be fried with vegetables for a delicious stir fry, or the softest form can be blended into a fruit smoothie.
In addition to tofu, you can eat soy nuts, try exotic tempeh, edamame, soymilk, soy alfalfa sprouts, or any of the soy based puddings and desserts available. As a part of a healthy vegetarian diet, soy foods are indispensible.
